Renting an RV For Daytona 500 – Everything you need to know!

by | Jan 21, 2024 | Florida RV Camping | 0 comments

The Daytona 500 is one of the most prestigious events on the NASCAR calendar. RV spots sell out way in advance, but it is possible to buy in resell. There’s a sense of camaraderie among campers, many of whom are long-time attendees and are super passionate about NASCAR. Sharing the excitement of the race, stories, and experiences with others makes it a memorable event. Witness a lively, communal outdoor experience unlike any other you have ever been to. There are often opportunities to meet some of the drivers, get autographs, and take photos, especially during scheduled autograph sessions. Those looking to boost their race day experience should get tickets to Fanzone. With Fanzone, you’ll get pre-race access for driver Introductions, driver Q&A’s, VIP appearances, live entertainment all weekend, up-close views of the grid, to sign start/finish line and access to the pre-race show. Kids 12 and under are FREE.

We deliver, set-up and pick-up RV Rentals at Daytona International Speedway for Daytona 500.

RV camping at the Daytona 500 is an exciting and unique motorsport experience that manages to capture the hearts of race enthusiasts on an international level. Walking around, you’ll find that the atmosphere is vibrant and energetic, filled with die-hard racing fans. You’ll see family groups and friend groups almost everywhere you look. It is an annual tradition for many of the spectators.

Tailgating at the Daytona 500 is a big part of the culture. People set up grills, cookouts, and sometimes even have small parties right at their RV sites. You’ll find fans socializing, playing games, and enjoying the pre-race festivities all while listening to the vroom of the race cars. If you are lucky, your campsite might even provide a direct view of the race. Otherwise, fans can head to the stands to watch the race. The sound of the cars and the cheering crowd is a thrilling part of the experience. Perhaps bring headphones for sensitive or young ears.

Some RV spots at Daytona International Speedway are more luxurious, offering full hookups, while others are more basic, with no electricity or water connections. The infield area is particularly popular as it provides a highly sought after close-up view of the race. In the days leading up to the Daytona 500, there are practice sessions and qualifying races, which can be just as exciting and offer more insight into the teams’ strategies and performance. The speedway provides various facilities like restrooms and showers for campers.

Every fan with a ticket has the privilege to leave and come back as they please. If you’re in the infield, your wristband and the parking pass on your towing vehicle grant you the freedom to exit and re-enter the premises. However, if you depart with your RV, re-entry is not permitted.

Something we have learned from years of attending Daytona 500 is that Florida’s weather can be unpredictable, especially in February. Most years it is hot sunny days and drastically cooler at night.  You’ll want to bring warm and cool clothing and don’t forget a rain jacket or poncho.

If you are bringing young children then check out the Nascar Kid’s Club.

We just know that you’ll agree that RV camping at the Daytona 500 is a unique blend of motorsport excitement and camping fun. By RVing on-site, you have easy access to various events happening around the race, like driver meet-and-greets, concerts, and other entertainment activities. Don’t wait to get the plans in motion!  Planning is the only way to visit Daytona 500.
