Hitting the Road: Music Festivals & RV Rentals from Orlando

Music in Central Florida just hits different. The weather’s perfect – it feels like there’s a new festival every weekend. Picture this: you wake up in your Escape RV Rental, make your morning coffee, and step outside right into the action. No driving across town, no parking hassles, no overpriced hotels. You’re already exactly where you want to be.
That’s the beauty of exploring festivals in an RV rental – you’re living right in the middle of it all, but still have your own space to escape when you need a breather. Festival crowds getting overwhelming? Your cozy bed, private bathroom and fully-stocked fridge are just steps away. Want to stay for “just one more song” even though it’s getting late? No problem when home is right there in the parking lot.
I’ve done the festival circuit both ways – hotels and RVs – and there’s absolutely no comparison. When you’ve got your Escape RV Rental, the festival doesn’t end when the music stops. You get to be part of this awesome (albeit temporary) community of like-minded people. Some of my best festival memories aren’t even from the event I went to enjoy, but from the impromptu gatherings that happen afterward when everyone’s hanging out by their RVs, sharing stories and leftover snacks.

The Music Scene (Within 100 Miles)
Orlando really comes alive with music:
Downtown gets super energetic during the Florida’s music festival season. Having your RV rental nearby is a game-changer – you can hop between venues, head back to freshen up, grab a quick snack, and head out again without missing a beat.
The Orlando D.T.O. Jazz Festival is one of my favorites – nothing beats settling into a camp chair outside your RV with a cold drink while jazz fills the warm evening air. A night of jazz music with family and friends is simply a perfect laid-back vibe.
If you’re into electronic music, Electric Daisy Carnival at Tinker Field is an absolute must. Trust me, you’ll be grateful for your RV after dancing all day – it’s like having your own personal chill-out zone right there.
Take a drive to the coast (about 50 miles) and you can catch the Daytona Beach Bandshell Summer Concert Series. Spend the day on the beach, enjoy free music as the sun sets, then head back to your RV parked nearby. Perfect day, if you ask me.
Blues fans should definitely make the 85-mile trip to St. Pete for the Tampa Bay Blues Festival. The waterfront setting at Vinoy Park is stunning, and the lineup is always solid. Having your RV means you can make a weekend of it instead of rushing back to Orlando.
Beyond Music – Art, Film & Food
Music festivals aren’t just about music – there’s something for everyone:
The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival transforms those beautiful brick streets into an amazing outdoor gallery. With your RV parked nearby, you can take your time browsing, go back to pieces that caught your eye, and not worry about rushing through.
Film buffs love the Florida Film Festival. Between screenings, your RV gives you a quiet spot to recharge or discuss the films you’ve just seen. Way better than sitting in a coffee shop killing time.
Just 30 miles from Orlando, Mount Dora hosts one of my favorite art festivals. This little lakeside town is incredibly charming, and the festival draws some really talented artists. It’s absolutely worth the short drive.
The DeLand Outdoor Art Festival (about 40 miles north) has this wonderful community feel to it. It’s held under beautiful oak trees, and your RV lets you experience these smaller, more authentic events that most tourists completely miss.
If you’re a foodie, don’t skip Taste of Winter Park. Local restaurants put their best foot forward, and with your RV, you can store any goodies you pick up to enjoy later under your awning with a glass of wine. That’s living!
Family-Friendly Options
Some of the best RV memories come from family festivals:
The Central Florida Fair is a classic – rides, animals, fair food, the works. Having your RV means you can stay multiple days without the “we have to do everything today!” pressure. That alone makes it worth it with kids.
About 80 miles west in Plant City, the Florida Strawberry Festival is berry heaven (sorry for the pun, couldn’t resist). The strawberry shortcake alone is worth the drive, but they also have great concerts and activities. The countryside drive there is perfect for an RV day trip.
If you’re willing to go the full 100 miles southwest, the Sarasota County Fair has its own coastal Florida charm. Make it part of a longer Gulf Coast exploration – the RV gives you that flexibility.
For something completely different, head 60 miles east to Melbourne for the Brevard Renaissance Fair. It’s hilarious fun watching jousting tournaments and walking around in this medieval setting. Kids absolutely love it.
Island vibes await at the Cedar Key Arts Festival, about 100 miles northwest. This tiny Gulf island has such a relaxed, Old Florida feel that you won’t find anywhere else. The RV trip there takes you through some gorgeous, untouched natural areas too.
Practical RV Tips for Festival-Hopping
A few things I’ve learned from experience:
Book your Escape RV Rental early. Spring is prime time in Florida, and the good RVs get reserved quickly. Same goes for campgrounds near popular festivals.
Pack smart for festivals. Sunscreen, hats – having these conveniences right in your RV makes festival days so much more comfortable. We provide an outdoor rug, camp chairs, and cooler for all of our RV Rentals.
Don’t overschedule. One of the best things about RV travel is the journey itself. Leave time to take scenic routes between festivals and maybe spend a night or two at state parks along the way.
Make friends at campgrounds. Festival campgrounds have this awesome temporary community vibe. Don’t be surprised if you end up sharing drinks with your neighbors or grilling together.
Have a rain plan. Florida usually means sunshine, but those afternoon showers can roll in quickly. Your RV means you don’t have to bail when it rains – just wait it out in comfort. Just know that most showers pass quickly and to bring a poncho if you want to stay on your hike.
Where to Park Your Home-on-Wheels
These campgrounds make perfect bases for exploring multiple festivals:
Rent an RV at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake it is minutes from Orlando attractions but feels like you’re in nature. Great fishing too!
Rent an RV at Moss Park has gorgeous giant oak trees and spacious sites southeast of Orlando. You might see deer wandering through in the mornings.
Rent an RV at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont has beautiful lakefront sites and is convenient to western Orlando events.
If you want all the bells and whistles, Rent an RV at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – it can’t be beat – though book way ahead and be prepared to pay a little bit more for the luxury and park amenities.
Blue Spring State Park in Orange City is about 40 miles north and absolutely worth it if you love nature. The crystal-clear spring often has manatees, and it’s a refreshing swim after a hot festival day.
On the Space Coast, Manatee Hammock Park in Titusville has waterfront sites with easy access to eastern festivals.
Near Tampa Bay, E.G. Simmons Regional Park and Fort De Soto Park offer beachside camping that pairs perfectly with western festival adventures.
Your music festival tour in an Escape RV Rental isn’t just about the destinations – it’s about the freedom to experience Central Florida’s cultural celebrations on your own terms. Wake up where the action is, create your own schedule, and carry all the comforts of home with you from one unforgettable event to the next. When the music fades and the festival lights dim, your adventure continues as you chart your course to the next celebration just down the road.
